Fall 2026 District Auditions and State Competitions
KMTA State Auditions and the Kansas MTNA Competitions will be held at the University of Kansas in Lawrence on October 31 and November 1, 2026. Pre-college students who receive an “I” rating at the district audition are eligible to enter the state competition. College-level students and Amateur Adults may enter the state competition directly without the district audition. Please read the Auditions Handbook for more information.
District Enrollment Deadline: Monday, September 7, 2026, by 11:59 p.m.
State Enrollment Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2026, by noon.
Only teachers, not parents, can register students.
If you choose to mail a check, please send one check to cover all the registration fees from one studio.
As a Reminder
Teachers must help with the auditions for a few hours, working as door monitors, check-in, and recording. Teachers must complete the volunteer form; otherwise, their students will not be enrolled. If your high school students need community service hours and would like to help with the district or state auditions, please contact Emily Yeh or the district presidents.
For the MTNA competition, please register at Home (mtna.org). Students may not enter both the MTNA Competition and KMTA Honors Auditions in the same year with the same performing medium.
