Sally Buxton is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) with the Music Teachers National Association.  She has operated an independent piano studio for over 35 years.  She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas.  She is a past -president of the Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association (WMMTA), and has served on the board of the Wichita Area Piano Teachers League (WAPTL).  

Mrs. Buxton is currently serving as Music Progressions Chair for the Kansas Music Teachers Association (KMTA), and organist for St. Michael's Western Rite Orthodox Christian Church in Wichita. She has co-chaired many festivals, including the WMMTA summer 2008 "Music Olympics," the 2009 "World Music Festival" at the Museum of World Treasures. She is currently a co-chair of the Spring 2010 "Back to the Future" festival celebrating the piano with the aid of the Piano Technician's Guild.

Mrs. Buxton's studio is located in her home in Bel Aire, Kansas, a northeast suburb of Wichita. She teaches private 30 or 45-minute lessons, occasional group lessons, and summer music camps.  She is beginning Recreational Music Making classes for adults in her studio this fall.

Her students perform in care-home recitals, studio recitals, KMTA auditions, Kansas High School Activities Association festivals, WMMTA festivals, and KMTA Music Progressions. Students are also encouraged and aided in their efforts to play for their churches and schools, frequently as accompanists.
